Inland Networks is a closely held communications company with its headquarters located in Roslyn, Washington. Marian and Harold Weis started Inland Telephone Company (ITC) in 1951, when they purchased the Prescott Telephone and Telegraph Company in Prescott, Washington. In 1959, the family purchased the Cascade Telephone and Telegraph Company in Roslyn, Washington, where they relocated their family in 1960 and operated these two exchanges under the Prescott Telephone and Telegraph Company. Since 1960, the Roslyn office has served as the headquarters. Over the years, the Weis family acquired more rural telecommunications companies; Uniontown, Washington in 1963, and Lenore, Idaho in 1965 that operated as Inland Telephone Company.

In approximately 1982, the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission had asked all communication s providers in the State of Washington to provide service to the Dewatto, Washington area that was an un-served territory. ITC stepped forward and constructed a plant; establishing service in 1984. In 1983, the two companies were consolidated under Inland Telephone Company. Now known as Inland Networks, the Company has grown immensely over the years and has become a full service rural communications company, providing Telephone, Long Distance, Internet and Security Services, with an expanded service area and employment base.

Dewatto

The Dewatto service area is located in Western Washington, along the Hood Canal Peninsula in Mason and Kitsap Counties. Located approximately seven miles west of Belfair and seventeen miles south of Bremerton, the service area is classified as a bedroom community consisting mainly of residents that commute daily to more urban areas like Belfair, Bremerton, Olympia, and Tacoma for employment. The area is also recognized as a recreational area due to its location adjacent to the Hood Canal and the many fresh water lakes located throughout this region. At one time, this area was also renowned for its timber industry harvesting and exporting Christmas trees throughout the country. Today due to the market, many of the timber areas have been developed and platted for residential and recreational subdivisions. Inland Networks has been providing service to the Dewatto community since 1984. In 2005, Inland Networks began providing Internet to the area as well. Inland Networks provides Telephone, Long Distance and Internet to the Dewatto service area. The overall service area consists of approximately 59 square miles, with 128 route miles of buried plant serving 393 access lines.

Cle Elum

The Cle Elum service area is located in the Cascade Mountains in Upper Kittitas County in central Washington. The name Cle Elum, which means “swift water” in the language of the Kittitas Indians, was given not only to the city, but to a river and to the beautiful serene Lake Cle Elum, part of the Yakama Nation Tribes. Lake Cle Elum brings in many different recreational activities from fishing, boating and other water sports, to hiking and other outdoor adventures. What once was a booming town for coal mining, railroading and saw milling, Cle Elum is now recognized as a recreational area due to its location and seasonal weather. Cle Elum experiences four very distinct seasons, which attracts an array of outdoor recreational activists, from hiking, hunting and fishing, to snowmobiling, motorcycling and other extreme sports. Inland Networks has been providing Internet, and Security Services in the Cle Elum area since 2005. The estimated current population for Cle Elum is 1,870 residents. The overall service area consists of approximately 41 linear miles.

Roslyn, Ronald, Lake Cle Elum

The Roslyn, Ronald, and Lake Cle Elum communities are located in Upper Kittitas County in central Washington. These neighboring communities are also neighbors to Cle Elum, which make these three communities well known for recreational areas. Roslyn is also known for the TV series Northern Exposure that was filmed in this beautiful town. Roslyn was founded in 1886 as a coal mining town. The oldest continuously operating tavern in the state of Washington is located in Roslyn. It opened in 1889, but then was rebuilt out of 45,000 bricks in 1898 and took the name “The Brick”. Inland Networks offers Telephone, DSL and Dial-up Internet, Security and Long Distance Services to these three surrounding communities. Roslyn is a very rural town that has an estimated population of 1,017 residents. Ronald was originally a mining community that is now a recreational community. Ronald is an unincorporated community with an estimated population of 265 residents. The overall service area for Roslyn, Ronald, and Lake Cle Elum consists of approximately 45 square miles, with 147 route miles of plant serving 1,250 access lines.

Lenore and Gifford

The Lenore service area is located along the Clearwater River in Nez Perce County in the north central portion of Idaho. Although this area is primarily rural in nature, with farming and ranching being the primary industries, it is centrally located between the industrial areas of Lewiston and Clarkston to the west and the highly productive timber and milling center of Orofino to the east. In recent years this area has also seen extensive recreational growth along the Clearwater River and valley. Lenore is considered a bedroom community; it offers the attractiveness of rural living with the comforts of a nearby city. Inland Networks has been providing service to Lenore since 1965 and Direct Dial Service in 1967. Inland Networks offers Telephone, Internet, and Long Distance to the Lenore service area. The overall service area consists of approximately 94 square miles with 173 route miles of plant serving 307 access lines.

Prescott

The Prescott service area is in Columbia and Walla Walla counties, in the southeast portion of Washington State. Prescott is a small rural farming town located approximately 20 miles north of the city of Walla Walla. The economy for this area is centered primarily on agriculture. Because of this, the area typically experiences very little fluctuation in growth or population movement. Inland Networks has been a service provider for this area since 1951, and offers Telephone, Internet, and Long Distance Services. The overall service area of Prescott consists of approximately 122 square miles, with 148 route miles of plant serving 213 access lines.

Easton

Easton is located in the Cascade Mountains approximately 20 miles southeast of Snoqualmie Pass. Easton is surrounded by stunning high country scenery, peaceful lakes and miles and miles of trails used in the winter and summer months. Easton is recognized as a recreational area where hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and wildlife are right at your footsteps. Inland Networks has been providing the Easton service area since 2004 and provides Internet and Security Services. Easton has an estimated population of about 383 residents. The overall service area consists of approximately 28 square miles.

Uniontown and Colton

The Uniontown service area is located in eastern Washington on the Idaho border. Uniontown and Colton are noted to have some of the richest agricultural farm lands in the Pacific Northwest. In the late 1890’s, German immigrants settled in these communities, establishing thriving towns bustling with many businesses. Harness shops, bakeries, shoemakers and dry good shops started as well as breweries, from the German’s ability to make great beer. Telephone service was established and owned by the local stock holders. The Uniontown-Colton Telephone Company was sold to Harold Weis in 1963. By 1966, direct dial became possible. Uniontown is now recognized as a rural farming town and bedroom community for Pullman, WA and Moscow, ID to the northeast and Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA to the southeast. The Uniontown and Colton service area provides service to the towns of Uniontown, Colton, and Johnson, WA, Leon, ID as well as the surrounding rural areas. Inland Networks provides Telephone, Long Distance, DSL and Dial Up Internet to these areas. The Uniontown and Colton service area consists of approximately 143 square miles serving 585 access lines and 29 access lines in the Leon, ID area.
